Why don't you post us a V-Note?

Q) What's a V-Note?

A) Virtual Note.

V-Notes are like those snappy little yellow Post-Its  you often see in 'Real World' offices, except here, they are Virtual.

We at www.whatsnewonthenet.com have launched a new section today called V-Notes. It is for all Internet related sites & Startups (As of now. We will take a call on non-Internet related websites later) that need to regularly update the online community on what they have been up to (so far). A tweak in the logo, the addition of a new search engine or an interactive section, a new web application.....anything related to the website.

Examples:

Your website just made it to the 'Google 1000 top websites' list

Your web application was bettered by adding new code

Your development team went to Silicon Valley to give your website a push

You have updated your on-going website with new features

You have found your first VC!

For all the above & more, immediately send us a Virtual Note explaining the change/announcement and we shall put it up for all to read. Something like a Press Note, only not as long or as boring.

Startups are often struggling to find their feet (we should know). A 360 deg publicity of what they are up to is vital to bring home the readers. Most Startups have their own blogs to announce on-going changes. But these blogposts are primarily aimed at their regular readers. What about the rest of the online community? What about advertisers, the marketing chaps, you know, those who do not regularly log on to your site?

We have found that till such time the website is not able to build up a good amount of traffic, not many Netizens are aware of the goings-on on a website/blog. But the changes are more often than not, made with an eye at driving more traffic. So it is a kinda Catch-22 situation. The Startup makes changes in the design/content with an eye on the Reader, but not many Readers see it because they are not aware of the changes.

This is where www.whatsnewonthenet.com steps in. In our V-Notes section, we give the managements/owners of websites, blogs, social sites or that of any other "Internet Product", a ready-made platform to quickly announce upcoming changes, additions/deletions. This section is open not only to Startups but also sites which are by now "regular".

Spread the good word is the motto of V-Notes.

Send in your V-Notes to v-notes@whatsnewonthenet.com but keep them brief.Be snappy  in your explanation.  Like you would were you to write on a 'Real World' Post-It. In 150 words, tops.

We will feature your V-Note (as it is) in our V-Notes section. (Of course, we retain the right to edit it for grammatical accuracy, and also keep our right to reject a V-Note without giving any explanations....and all of that stuff).

So, take advantage of V-Notes. What's more, as of now, it's FREEE. Some day,we may start charging. All good things in life do have a price tag.
